Every year, the Oscar awards are presented to the best-rated movies released from within the past year. This year’s nominations were finally announced last week on Jan. 16.
The two movies tied for the most nominations at 10 nominations each are “Gravity” and “American Hustle.” “Gravity” features Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, and “American Hustle” features Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, and Bradley Cooper. Both movies were nominated in areas such as Actress in a Leading Role, Best Picture, Directing, Film Editing, and Production Design.
Other high-nominated moves include “12 Years A Slave” with nine nominations, and “Captain Phillips”, “Dallas Buyers Club”, and “Nebraska” with six nominations each in categories such as Best Picture and Film Editing.
The 2014 Oscars will be presented on March 2, 2014 at 7 p.m. on ABC.
