The Neshaminy boys’ track team is off to a strong start after securing a win over Abington in a very close meet with a final score of 77-73. In the meet, many of the standout performances on the sprinters side include Dean Bond and Christian Daily taking second and third in the 300 hurdles, Savion Hebron placing in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash, and Luke St. Pierre taking third in the 400 meter dash. On the distance side, Rusty Kujdych won both the 1600 and 3200 meter, with Sophomore Jason Fitch taking third place in the 3200 meter. In the field, Trevor Tu took the win for the pole vault, Jack Spingler, Matt Smeck, and Luke Tynan swept the Javelin throw, and Nick Napadano scored in the discus and shotput throw.

“It was a total team effort, every point mattered and our guys performed the way that we needed to,” said by Coach Shawn Thomas DeLosAngelas.

Outside of the dual meets, Neshaminy has found major success at many of the invitationals they have attended this season. At the Rustin Invitational, Sean Conway took second place in the 800 meters, running an impressive 1:59 official time. At the PA Track Classic, Conway again took second place in the 800 meters and Neshaminy had a 4×800 meter relay take fourth place overall running an official time of 8:42.

At the Council Rock Kiwanis Invitational, Matt Busch ran a personal best time of 17:33 in the 5000 meters on the track, in the 1500 meter, Mitch Kryzwonos and Jason Fitch ran official times of 4:34 and 4:36, in that order. For the sprinters, Savion Hebron made the finals of the 100 meter dash, clocking in an 11:68. In the 200 meter dash, Savaughn Hebron made the finals with a 23:55, and Kevin Rosseljong ran a 56:36 in the open 400 meter dash. In the relays, the Distance Medley Relay took fourth place overall and set a new record of 10:47.13, breaking the previous record of 10:49.9 set back in 2006. Also, the 4×100 meter relay took fourth place as well and secured 10 points to score in the invitational.

The team is back in action on 16 April to host its very own “Neshaminy Track Classic” Invitational.
