Competition Piece to impress once again

Every year, the drama department puts on several productions that are held in the Black Box Theater. Earlier this year, there were already two plays that featured the Roadies (Almost Maine and Cicatrice), but starting this week there is a show that features the entire drama department, which is called Competition Piece.

Competition Piece is a show about three stereotypical groups of high school students that compete in a play competition. There is a preppy group, an artsy group, and a metal-head group, along with a series of teachers and judges that go along with each group. Throughout the play, the three groups go through separate processes of choosing a play, auditions, rehearsing, performing, and receiving the results.

The performances take place at 6:30pm and 8:15pm each night, featuring two different casts per class. Jan. 16th features fifth period, Jan. 17th features second period, Jan. 21st features first period, Jan. 22nd features third period, and Jan. 23rd features sixth period. Tickets are five dollars and can be purchased at the door the night of the show.
