Breanna Morris, a senior, is the captain of the girls’ bowling team.

Senior Breanna Morris, captain of girls’ varsity bowling team, began bowling competitively her freshman year, but her roots began elsewhere. “My grandmom used to bowl. I started bowling when I was 7 to get closer to her,” she said.

During the past three years Morris made a significant contribution to the team frequently as a top scorer. As far as this year is concerned, Morris is hopeful that the team will have another successful season, aiming to stay ranked as one of the top teams in the suburban one league. The girls intend to pay close attention to the matches against Harry S. Truman and Pennsbury High Schools, as these are the team’s two main rivals in the SOL conference.

The possibility of competing at the state and regional championships is also on the minds of athletes. “If you’re truly passionate about something don’t give up on it. You can always set your goals higher,” Morris said.

Morris believes that sports are about more than just competitions though. “[Bowling] has taught me to have patience with other people and how to keep a level head during stressful situations,” she said.  The girls’ will take on North Penn in their first match of the season  on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Penndel Lanes.
