Bands battle at the Cavalcade

As part of the Cavalcade of Bands competition, the Neshaminy Marching Band performed at Boyertown High School on Sept. 24, in front of both eager band parents and meticulous judges.
The statewide competition puts various high school marching bands into divisions and then pits these groups against one another. The average score of three performances is tallied up, and the highest-scoring bands head off to championships for an inter-divisional competition.
Last year, during Neshaminy’s second foray into Cavalcade, the band came in third place. The marching band plans to continue their success. Neshaminy, which shared the field with thirteen other marching bands, earning scores of 81.5 out of 100.
After every competition, the entire band is treated to congratulatory refreshments. In addition to cookies and juice, the band received another treat Saturday: success at cavalcade championships.
