Neshaminy varsity field hockey beat William Tennet’s team today, with a final score of 3-0. The Lady Skins started the game with a super strong offense, leading to junior Abby Alexis’ goal within the first 20 minutes of the first half. Following this goal, sophomore Maria Palmeri scored on the Panther’s about 8 minutes before the close of the half.
The Skins continued to dominate the field throughout the rest of the game, with most of the entire game being played on Tennet’s defense. About ten minutes into the second half, sophomore Marlena Koellner, scored the team’s last and final goal of the game.
This win was not one that the team expected to come easily with the last win against Tennet being just a slight 1-0. “Tennet is a strong team and I’m glad we stepped up and got the win,” Varsity coach Caitlin Koczynski said about her team’s victory.
This win today keeps Neshaminy in a tie for first with Council Rock South in the SOL National Conference. The team is set to play Abington High School tomorrow after it’s rescheduling of Monday’s game due to inclement weather.
