With the beginning of the school year comes a rush of fall sports at Neshaminy. The girl’s varsity field hockey team kicks off the season with a five to one record, second in the SOL. Coach Caitlin Koczynski shares some of the accomplishments they have made in addition to what there is to expect for the rest of the season.
Their five to one record didn’t happen on its own. The girls dedicate much of their time to practice. With the exception of their game days, they practice Monday through Friday until five p.m., and two hours on Saturdays.
Coach Koczynski claims that one athlete in particular, senior Brittany Sheenan, has achieved an enormous accomplishment.
“ Brittany Sheenan has nine goals on the season so far, third most in the conference,” Koczynski said.
So what is to come for the rest of the season? What is next for the team?
“You can expect to see hard work to make it into Districts,” Koczynski said.
Neshaminy wishes them the best of luck for their entrance into districts. Until then, come out and show your support by cheering the team on. For their scheduled games in addition to the rest of the fall sports’ schedules, check out the school website calendar.
