The holidays are here! It’s freezing outside, kids are excited to receive presents, people are gulping down hot chocolate, and families are spending precious time together. However, ever since this pandemic began there has been less to do during the holidays, but there are some activities that you can still enjoy with your family this holiday season.

Shady Brook Farm is a great option to see some breathtaking lights. Almost every year, thousands of people venture into the wonderland that is their annual Christmas light show. Even with restrictions, such as buying tickets online ahead of time to limit capacity, Shady Brook still remains a classic Bucks County tradition.

Covid-19 has changed many plans for the holiday season, but families are still planning to go about their traditions in the safest way possible.

Jadyn Garcia, a freshman at Neshaminy High School, annually enjoys holiday activities with her family.

“I go to Shady Brook or drive around looking at lights, I make Christmas cookies with my family, and I make gingerbread houses,” Garcia said.

Grace Jenchowski, another fellow freshman at Neshaminy High school, enjoys spending time with her family in any way she can.

“For Christmas, me and my family drive around looking at Christmas lights with hot chocolate and cookies,” Jenchowski said.

Olivia Lobecker, also a Neshaminy student, indulges in putting up decorations to help her get into the holiday spirit.

“Some activities I like to do are sledding, putting up Christmas lights, and putting up ornaments on the tree,” Lobecker said.

Going ice skating with friends, baking sweets, and watching funny holiday movies in pajamas near the fireplace are some examples of activities that can still go on this holiday season.

You can also catch Santa Claus waving from on top of the fire truck as the fire department plans to do their yearly neighborhood visits all across the county.

For the holidays, most people spend time with family and friends to create new memories and new stories. Let’s all have a safe and Happy Holidays!
