“Star Wars” fans were ecstatic last year with the release of the latest installment of the ever popular “Star Wars” series. Recently, Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino in the world of rap, was revealed as a new cast member for an upcoming Han Solo spin off film. The production team revealed that Glover would be taking on the role of Lando Calrissian in the untitled movie set to come out in 2018. Fans were quick to spread pictures of Glover back in his school days, in which he is pictured wearing a “Star Wars” shirt.

Glover appeared on the “Ellen Degeneres Show” following the announcement, in which he said he was very honored to be a part of the iconic cast. “That was my first toy I had, Lando. That was the very first. I remember it like it was yesterday,” Glover told Degeneres, adding that his father had gifted the toy to him.

The movie is projected to debut sometime in 2018, where Glover will join Alden Ehrenreich, Han Solo, and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Lord and Miller stated on the “Star Wars” official website that they were “lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald” join them in bringing the two characters back to the big screen.
