On Dec. 16, 2014, Pakistan went through what America went through on Nov. 11, 2001. The attack was on Army Public School which was part of the Army Public School and College System. It started at 10:30 a.m., when seven gunmen blew up a Suzuki van and headed straight towards the auditorium where there were students learning first aid. “They started shooting indiscriminately, and that’s where maximum damage was caused.” Gen. Asim Bajwa, a military spokesman, told CNN in an article by Sophia Saifi and Greg Botelho. 145 people died, 132 of those people were children and 10 were staff members and three were soldiers.
On Jan. 20, 2016, Pakistan went through a tough time again, when a group of terrorist shot and killed 22 people at Bacha Khan University. Some say it was the same group as the 2014 Peshawar Shooting, though some are not sure. The Taliban, a terrorist group located in Pakistan, came in through the side of the school and started throwing grenades and shooting. Khyam Mashal, a student in the university, was sleeping when his roommate woke him up because they could hear shooting outside. “I’m so afraid, my country is not safe. I’m not feeling comfortable,” Mashal told CNN in an article by Sophia Saifi, Ben Brumfield and Euan McKirdy.
