New Neshaminy yoga club

Many students at Neshaminy High school wake up horribly early, endure a long school day full of tiresome classwork and then continue on to an after-school job or sport, in addition to the daunting task of homework. For many, these long days lead to high stress levels and no time to relieve this anxiety.

Somewhat new to Neshaminy is Yoga Club – a place where students can go to escape the pressures of high school.

“I frequently hear that students are stressed, so I wanted to share my knowledge of yoga,” English teacher and Yoga Club advisor Kim Aubrey said.

Aubrey is a certified Yoga instructor at Yogasphere at both the Newtown and Doylestown locations, who wants to show students the benefits of practicing Yoga.

“I hope students can find a place where they can get involved and alleviate some of the stresses that come with being in High School,” she said.

The Yoga club meets every Tuesday afternoon in the Art Gallery- staff members are also invited to participate.  “I think this is important because (the word) yoga comes from “to yoke” or bring together” Aubrey said.  “I hope Yoga Club is a place where students and staff can come together.”
