Perla Guerrero
Perla Guerrero is a Spanish teacher who originally started her teaching career at Neshaminy High school in 2005. After substituting at Nazareth Academy and St. Basil High School, she has returned, and teaches Spanish I and II. “I feel like I am home again,” she said.
Guerrero attended college in Santo Domingo at Universidad Autónoma and received a degree in accounting. She then later got her teaching degree at Holy Family University in Philadelphia, Pa.
Outside of school, Guerrero can be found watching her children play soccer. She also enjoys watching law shows, such as Criminal Minds and Law and Order: SVU with her family. Hispanic cooking is also something Guerrero likes to do along with spending time with her friends.
In school Guerrero wants her students to be able to understand, speak and write in Spanish. “I want to them to be able use higher-level thinking that they can apply in other subjects in their lives,” she said.
Nancy Marchunsky
Nancy Marchunsky is a Child Development teacher new to Neshaminy High School. She also taught Family Consumer Science at Poquessing Middle School. “I am so glad to be back at the High School because I was a student here as well,” She said.
Marchunsky loves to be around her family, as well as her friends. Playing and taking her Samoyed named Beemer on long walks is another thing that she adores doing in her free time.
After attending Neshaminy High School, Marchunsky attended Albright College. “I have always wanted to be a teacher,” Marchunsky said. “I find it to be a very rewarding job.”
Working at the preschool with her colleagues and students proves to be a very valuable teaching lesson for her. “I want my students to apply the lessons and situations that I teach them in the real world in their lives,” Marchunsky said.
