The Neshaminy class of 2014 always seems to do everything bigger and better than the classes before them, and for their senior year, there is no exception. When they were sophomores, instead of having their sophomore dance in the gym, they moved it to King’s Caterers on New Falls Road in Levittown. For their Junior Prom, they went across state lines to New Jersey. Now, they’re recreating the magic they made on The Spirit of Norfolk during their junior class trip to Williamsburg, this time on the Spirit of Philadelphia.
“Last year’s cruise was a success due to the fun spirit and overall willingness of 265 students and 15 chaperones all away for a weekend wanting to have a great time. The food was excellent, the weather was perfect, and the dancing lasted until the ship docked in to port.” said senior class adviser, Len Davis.
“Since the end of last school year into this one when we knew the Florida trip didn’t have enough interest. We actually talked about it with my officers on the ride home from the Junior class trip in May.” said Davis. Needless to say, not only was the cruise a great time for the students, but for staff and chaperones as well.
Watching all the kids he has known since they were Freshman interacting is always a pleasure to see, especially on a whole weekend trip together. “Seeing all the kids have a great time as a group was my favorite part. Everyone was dancing together. Kids sat at tables with different people for dinner and really had a great time” he commented.
With a ton of fun events planned for the spring of 2014, the class officers and Mr. Davis wanted to start off the year right. Going on a three hour cruise on the Delaware in November is sure to be an experience. “We had to wait until football season was over and we picked a day that they had the next day off.”
The senior class is sure to have a fun, event filled year with things such as Powderpuff, Gym Night, Prom, and Senior Week. But, as we all know, this class is full of surprises, and Davis is hopeful for a fantastic year. “We do have a 76ers game planned for February and if we get 140+ students we will get to play on the court after the game. In the spring, I’m hoping we can go as a class to our 4th Phillies game together. An amazing Prom is set for May 10th in Center City, and I can’t wait to get ideas and fun planned for our senior picnic” Davis said.
“As for other surprises? You never know. With Ton as our president and my four hard working ladies Arielle, Calli, Kylie, and Shelby who knows.”
