Apple’s technological empire has grown yet again, this time with new updates to all of their mobile automations. The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are to hit the monochrome shelves of the many packed Apple stores across the county on Sept. 20. Also, the new iOS 7 update was released to all iPhone users on Sept. 18.
The new update contains many new and user-friendly features, including AirDrop, Multitasking, and iTunes Radio. The AirDrop feature is a way to share pictures and media with those around that also have the new internal operating system, simply by turning WiFi and Bluetooth on.
Multitasking is also a very useful feature that allows the user to tap from app to app by clicking the home button twice. “I really like the new look of the iOS 7, but it’s going to take some getting used to,” senior Sarah Grudza said of her iPhone’s updated system.
iOS 7 does not only have new features: many of the apps have changed their look, along with the color scheming of the entire phone. Darrell Erthington, critic of Tech Crunch, described the new look to be a “visual shock” to all those of whom did not see it at its release months ago. Erthington also explains, “Apple’s new look with iOS 7 takes acclimating, but on the whole, it’s an improvement.”
The new iPhone 5S is offered in three colors: black, grey, and gold. With a new fingerprint reader, thieves will not be able to get into the phones without having the memorized finger print.
Equally new and in completely new territory for the company comes the iPhone 5C. This phone is a plastic-back phone and comes in five different shades, including: green, white, blue, red, and yellow. This phone is designed to have a more manageable price range for the consumer.
With the many new changes to the image of the iPhone and their new productions of the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C, Apple is expecting these new products to fly off the shelves and directly into the hot-hands of the consumer, especially with the new iOS 7 programming.
