Army recruiters joined Neshaminy High School and its student body on October 12 to showcase their Strength and Action tour. The Strength and Action tour is a national event that goes from school to school to show students what it takes to be in the Army and if they have it.
“Strength and Action tour is to build confidence within yourself as well as showing the strength of working as a team” Sergeant Smith, seven years of Army experience said, about why they use this tour to recruit students. Every person working there was enthusiastic and motivated. They made great examples for the students attending the tour. The tour consisted of a team challenge where a team of five had to complete a bridge obstacle course then do five pushups with the other team member’s feet on their backs.
There was also a map challenge where math and critical thinking skills were used to solve problems. Along with those challenges, there was a timed challenge where a certain amount of up-downs was done, press a moving red dot on a screen, and a certain amount of pushups to finish. After that there was a pull up challenge in which as many pull up’s as possible would be done.
Last there was the flight simulator. Two people would get into a helicopter simulator and strap in, and the simulator would move up and down, side to side and every other which way.
Sergeant Smith, First Sergeant Porter, and the rest of the recruiting crew did a great job with the tour and helping students determine their strength and whether or not the Army could be in their future.
