On March 30, 2025, the Neshaminy High School (NHS) Interact Club held their annual talent show in the Theodore E. Kloos Auditorium to raise money for their Sunshine Children that are sponsored by the Sunshine Foundation.
Every year, the NHS Interact Club is assigned children with disabilities from the Sunshine Foundation and has a goal to raise a certain amount of proceeds to grant them their “dream” and send them to their destination of choice.
This year, the club had the opportunity to take on the dreams of not just one child, but three.
The event granted the children their dreams: Alexandria’s hopes of getting a gazebo, Caleb’s aspiration to go to North Carolina, and Ahmar’s dream of going to Disney World to meet Pluto and Tigger.
At the conclusion of the acts, all members of the Interact Club, those in acts and representatives from the Sunshine Foundation, came onto the stage with banners and gifts to reveal to the audience, the Sunshine Children, and their families that their dreams were coming true.
The night was filled with spectacular acts. From singing, rock band performances, cultural dancing, and even “speedcubing”, which is the competitive sport of solving a Rubik’s Cube or similar puzzle as quickly as possible. There was a wide variety of talents to see.
Spectators had the opportunity to vote for their favorite act by donating money to the Sunshine Foundation, in which the act that raised the most amount of money at the event was granted with a “Fan Favorite” award.
Throughout the night, the selected judges– Dean Baurlee (husband of NHS English teacher Melissa Baurlee) and students Brooke Floyd, Silvestre Vera, and Cole Marozsan- were taking note of the best act as well.
This year, the “Fan Favorite” Award and the Judges’ Choice Award happened to coincide with one another, and the NHS Rock Band, “Ascension”, won it all!
No matter who won, the real purpose of Neshaminy’s Got Talent was to have the NHS community come together to support children in their “dreams”.
