Every single person involved with Gym Night leaves with a smile. The “voices” of Gym Night, Mrs. Kim Montone and Mr. James Maloney, both attended NHS and loved participating in Gym Night.
When asked for a favorite memory, Mr. Maloney shared, “I don’t know that I would say I have a favorite memory. Just the overall experience.”
Maloney also commented on the change in perspective of Gym Night being a current announcer.
“Taking it on from the advisor role and then looking at it from the outside now, you live vicariously through the captains.” Maloney said. “You see the tears of joy and the tears of sadness.”
The head of the overall Gym Night is Mrs. Amy Geruc. Once a student, captain, advisor, and now organizer, Geruc says that Gym Night is for everyone.
“I always say that I’ve never seen so many smiles in one room,” Geruc said. “I’ve seen every different kind of student in Gym Night from those involved in sports, those involved in music, those that aren’t involved in anything but Gym Night. I think it brings our student body together as a whole from every different type of student.”
