On Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, Neshaminy High School (NHS) students performed “Young Frankenstein” in their first fully costumed rehearsal before opening night.

Created in 2007, “Young Frankenstein” is a musical detailing the story of Dr. Frankenstein as he navigates, living up to his grandfather’s legacy with the help of servants Igor and Inga and the hindrance of his fiance, Elizabeth.

Featuring some of NHS’s most talented students, like seniors Quinn Goldberg, Cole Marozsan, Rebecca Gutierrez, and Jacob Rice, along with underclassmen like Kamryn Breault and McKenzie Johnston, the musical was performed without a hitch as the cast flawlessly executed their roles.

When the leads weren’t on stage giving their lines, the ensemble was artfully working in conjunction to create a captivating visual performance.

From the dances to the props, it was apparent that everything was meticulously thought out as every scene came together beautifully.

In one of the most talented displays of vocal range and visual performance I’ve ever witnessed, junior Kami Breault, playing Elizabeth Bennington, Dr. Frankenstein’s fiance, belted her heart out singing “Please Don’t Touch Me.”

Breault stated her opinion of this year’s musical: “There are so many insanely talented actors in our high school…We are so lucky to have such talented directors who really truly care about our production.”

Additionally, many seniors, like Rebecca Gutierrez, are thrilled to perform “Young Frankenstein” as their last musical at NHS.

Gutierrez commented:“I’m extremely happy this is my last [show]… I love my cast and crew. They all work really hard,  and I’m very excited to be in this show with all these amazing people.” 

Beginning Feb. 13, the show will be performed in the Black Box Theatre, alternating between two casts.
