Pitching into the world
Neshaminy High School (NHS) is home to hundreds of seniors who will walk the stage in June, concluding their past four years of high school, but for one senior, Maysie Thomson, her future is just beyond another season.
Thomson, a NHS softball pitcher for the past three years, is one of those many seniors. Thomson is not only looking forward to an ambitious season, but to the future that lies ahead.
“In five years I see myself just getting out of college and starting to decorate my classroom for when I become a teacher,” Thomson expressed.
The walk across the stage in June starts a new beginning for Thomson and establishes a clean slate for her future. Thomson, an aspiring educator, has already found her love for becoming a middle school math teacher.
While the future is bright, Thomson’s high school journey hasn’t always been the easiest.
“One of the hardest moments in the past four years was learning to speak up for myself and learn not to listen to people’s rude criticism,” Thomson shared.
Being a teenager comes with its challenges, but for Thomson, softball became more than just a game. The lessons she learned on the field shaped her into a confident and determined force, ready to take on whatever comes next.
