With the season in full swing, the Neshaminy boys’ basketball team is sweeping the court. The season started off strong with a close 70-67 at Holy Ghost Prep on Nov. 29. and has extended into the league playoffs.
In a close game against Central Bucks East on Jan. 15, Neshaminy took home the win with a final score of 67-62, a statement given that Central Bucks East was ranked top 10 in the district at the time.
Max Currie, varsity senior holds high stats with 7.4 rebounds, the highest amount of rebounds this season.
Currie highlighted the team’s special moments off court and how they’ve helped their connection on court.
“We’re a very tight-knit groupm so practices are always fun because people are always talking to each other and joking around, which helps our chemistry on court too,” Currie said.
The team shows consistency with strong defenses, bouncing back after losses and building chemistry throughout the season.
“Before every game we have 20 minutes to stretch, so in that time, I do the same exact stretching routine which helps me lock in,” Currie said.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Mark Tingle, the team has demonstrated determination and competitiveness.
Finishing with a record of 10-12, the boys will face Abington High School on Feb. 14 in the first round of the PIAA Playoffs, and the contest will be a hard-fought one, win or lose.
