Neshaminy High School (NHS) celebrated its annual homecoming football game against Central Bucks South on Friday Oct. 18, 2024.
The NHS Choir took the field prior to the game to sing the “National Anthem” and the NHS “Alma Mater”, while the NHS marching band took the field for their pregame show, called “Behind Closed Doors”.
On top of this, several clubs, honors societies and sports teams set up booths, selling items from food, gifts, to gags. Many of the NHS club members worked hard to raise money for their extracurricular activities.
Clubs put participants up to the test, making them do push ups, pullups, hit hockey goals, and so much more. Natalie Woodman, member of the NHS Swim Team, shared the excitement around her booth.
“When people started doing pull-ups, all of their friends started screaming, and they wanted to do it, too,” Woodman stated.
Countless senior girls showed off their creativity in their senior jeans, bursting with red, white and blue paint and fabric, with different patterns, bows, pearls and so much more.
“I couldn’t wait to see everyone’s jeans. People really showed their creativity,” Taralyn Sinn, NHS senior explained. “Making them was so much fun to do.”
The NHS student and parent section at the game was loud and flooded with shades of red, all showing their spirit for Neshaminy.
During halftime, the homecoming king and queen were announced, and NHS voted to crown Marching Band Member, Francesca Capriotti, and Varsity football center, Kyler Nelson.
While the game ended in a 35-7 loss, the Neshaminy Varsity Football season isn’t over yet, as they have earned a playoff spot. Milo Makes, NHS football guard, shared his feelings about being in the playoffs.
“It’s our first playoff appearance in a long time,” Makes remarked. “And I’m really excited, I feel like our team could make it pretty far.”
