BUCKS COUNTY, PA – The town of Feasterville’s local McDonald’s greeted the 45th and possibly 47th president of the United States, Donald Trump, this past Sunday, Oct. 20.
Trump, who planned to visit since the week prior, visited Bucks County as it is the narrowest county in Southeastern Pennsylvania and has the smallest divide between Republican and Democrat voters.
Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, has been quoted several times about her childhood job at McDonald’s. Trump, however, has been disputing this claim, citing a lack of evidence.
“We have checked with McDonald’s,” Trump stated on his Social Media application Truth Social. “They say definitively that there is no record of Lyin’ Kamala Harris ever having worked there. In other words, she has never worked there, and has lied about this ‘job’ for years.”
Phillip Bump, A columnist at The Washington Post contacted McDonald’s about whether Kamala Harris was ever truly employed at the franchise.
“1983 was the pre-digital era,” Bump stated in his column. “And employment records for short-term workers at fast food chains from that period were almost certainly not considered essential documents to retain. I was able to find no evidence of her employment.”
The fast food giant that opened its first location in 1940 has been under a lot of scrutiny for the decision to take in the former president but has relayed to the public that they had franchises offer Kamala Harris, as well as her running mate, Tim Walz, an opportunity to serve fries at the drive-thru as well.
Jim Worthington, one of the top Republican fundraisers in America and the owner and president of local business Newtown Athletic Center (NAC), commented on how Trump’s Bucks County visit came to fruition.
“I am very active in the Trump campaign,” Worthington voiced. “The team reached out to me knowing that I know Pennsylvania fairly well and they asked me to look for a location in either Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, or Bucks County.”
Worthington, a member of the renowned Mar-a-Lago Club and the chairman of the Pennsylvania Republican delegation at the RNC (Republican National Convention), continued to discuss how McDonald’s and the Trump Team coordinated this decision.
“Since I live here I thought it would be a good thing to do it in Bucks County. So I reached out and found the owner of the Feasterville McDonald’s and I called him and asked him if he was interested in hosting it,” Worthington explained. “He was apprehensive but he said he would listen. Then I turned him over to the Trump campaign team and to my assistant who works for me who coordinated the details of it.”
Worthington finished the interview on a strong note, speaking of the historical significance of this campaign stop.
“You won’t hear this on CNN and you won’t hear this on MSNBC,” Worthington stated. “This campaign stop may have been the most historic campaign stop in the history of retail politics.”
