Boys’ track looks for successful conference meet

By Jack Haines
OP-ED

Neshaminy’s boys’ track team has been rolling all year, with many members earning medals and the leading the team to a succesful regular season, a five-and-two dual meet record. The team’s record and plethora of talent gives them a shot at a conference championship, a feat that a Neshaminy track team hasn’t accomplished in many years.

The team will compete for the conference title at the Suburban One League National Conference championships, held at William Tennent High School on Friday May 10 and Saturday May 11.

The ‘Skins are led by seniors Renard Howell, Cody Minnig, Joe Sulon, and sophomore David Marrington. They are supported by athletes like D’Andre Pollard, Nate Hall, and Ben Matzke. Howell is the premier sprinter in not only the league, but the state, and is capable of several individual titles. He will join teammates such as Minnig in 4×100 meter relay, a race Neshaminy could also potentially win.

The team is capable of scoring, perhaps even winning in many of the sprinting events, and scoring in nearly all of the relays.
