Volleyball team celebrates another victory

On Friday, May 2, Neshaminy’s boys’ varsity volleyball celebrated their Senior Night as well as their 14 consecutive win. The boys hosted Council Rock South, who in return maintained a suspenseful game as the score was often tied up.

With kills from Corey LaQuay, Justin Lemongelli, Stephen Compton, Ryan Jamison and Chase Fullen, as well as clean serves by JP Fay, Jake Murray and Pat Klingerman, the varsity squad was able to end their Senior Night with yet another victory, winning three out of five sets.

“I love this sport and I’m proud of how good we’re doing. We always have a lot of people come to the games and it’s just a lot of positive energy all the time,” senior Jake Murray said.

Contributing to the Neshaminy victory were Chase Fullen with 12 assists and nine, as well as Jeff Ardnt adding seven assists. JP Fay also contributed to the win by adding seven digs and two aces. Stats are in accordance to suburbanonesports.com

“Being able to play for such a solid team in my last year of high school is great. We all have such a good time together and it’s going to be really sad when it’s all over,” senior Stephen Compton said.

Set three ended in favor of Neshaminy, with the score being 31-29, putting the Golden Hawks to rest.

On May 6, the varsity team suffered their first loss against school rival, Pennsbury High School, 2-3. Both teams are now tied at 13-1 for the SOL championship title.

There will be a meeting in the near future to discuss ranking issues because of this tie. The next step for the Neshaminy team will be district playoffs; however time and date of the match have yet to be determined.
