On Fri., Apr. 1, Neshaminy High School hosted its Junior Prom at the Fuge in Warminister, Pennsylvania. With flashing lights, blaring music and everyone up on their feet and dancing, it was truly “A Night at the Mardi Gras.”

“We chose Mardi Gras as our theme so that we would have that fun party or festival vibe at [junior] prom,” said junior class secretary Mia Sexton.

Prom-goers adorned beads, feathers, and masks and jammed out to their favorite songs with their classmates- all dressed in their beautiful dresses and handsome tuxes. People left the dance floor to catch their breath and drink the blue, sugary mystery and eat the great food from the house caterer at the Fuge that was only referred to as the “special drink,” but the atmosphere of the prom was too much to leave for long.

“My highlight was dancing with the music blaring in our ears,” said junior Patrick McCormick.

The 2017 class officers have been working hard all year to make this possible. “We started planning in the beginning of the school year,” said Sexton. “We had to be committed to doing everything: setting up prom tables, touring the venue, selling tickets during our lunches, picking out the food and drinks we would serve, creating the sideshow, and picking out music and decorations.” It is thanks to the hard work and commitment of the class officers and the prom committee that this was all possible.

At the end of the night, everyone left with lost voices, aching feet, and great memories. And there ends, “A Night at the Mardi Gras.”

“I had so much fun dancing and everyone looked so good!” said Sexton.
