‘Prodigy,’ sequel in dystopian novel trilogy, brings new content to readers

By Breanna Kemp
Staff Writer

June Iparis and Daniel “Day” Wing arrived in Las Vegas just as their Elector Primo died. The new Elector Primo, like the President of Republic of America, instantly takes his spot. The two join the Patriots who are against the Republic. For trust, the leader of the Patriots tells them they have to help them assassinate the Elector Primo.

This book, by Marie Lu, is the second book in the trilogy, “The Legend Series.” Lu’s writing was very effective; it got right to the point. It started up right where it ended in the first book Legend.

The most interesting aspect of this book was that it was different from most Dystopian Fictional books. At a young age, the civilians of Republic of America are to take a trial test to see if they are smart enough to go to the few universities around the Republic of America. Those that do not will live in the poorer sections of the Republic.
