Done to Death

Since September Neshaminy’s Drama Club has worked hard on the production, “Done to Death”, which took place on Tuesday Jan 8 through Friday Jan 18. In the beginning of the year, each class received a script; one week later, auditions began, parts were assigned and rehearsals began.

“Done to Death” is a comedy about five mystery authors being brought together in order to write a TV series. The authors are put in Vulture’s Vault and asked to collaborate with each other to create a one of a kind murder/mystery plot for the series. Done to Death was Gina Chiolan first in-class performance, and this is the sixth year for her performing it.

“It’s a complete learning process, not only do the students work on their own parts but they get to watch and learn from their peers performing the same roles, sometimes you learn by doing but other times it is really beneficial to learn by observing,” advisor Gina Chiolan said about having a new cast each night.

Shortly after their arrival at Vulture’s Vault the authors find themselves in the middle of an actual mystery, when the host of the show is found dead. The show then centers around trying to figure out who the murderer is.

The Drama Class is known for their way of coming together as a family. “The whole cast was hilarious, we worked well together, and you could just tell everyone was having a good time,” sophomore Sarah Spanudis who played the part of Stephanie Mildaui said.

“It really helped having the whole cast so close, especially when someone got nervous,” freshman Forrest Filiano who played Whitney Olive said.

Done to Death puts a comical spin on murder and mystery, and the hard work of the Drama classes is clearly showcased. “It was really interesting, I like going to drama shows, they’re so funny,” senior Kate McAnulty who went to see the production said.
